Life...

Life with triplets, though always exciting has seemed to settle a bit. We seem to have developed a day to day routine that works well for us and the babies. We continue to enjoy being able to be at home with the babies and experience all of the milestones they are meeting. It is really a blessing that we are not missing any of it. Having tried so long to have these babies we feel blessed to watch them grow and develop new skills and amazing personalities.

They turned 5 months last Sunday. It seems the time is going by so fast. It is really hard to accept the fact that they are growing so fast and will only be babies for such a short time but we are trying not to spoil the moments with that anticipation. Before they were here I imagined life being so difficult, exhausting and stressful. Even though I was so excited to be blessed with them, the thought of all 3 being here and needing me so much was overwhelming. Contrary to my fears it really isn't that difficult. While I'm sure it will be much harder when they become mobile, right now it is absolutely wonderful. I love greeting them in the morning, seeing them smile and knowing they love me and depend on me. I love feeding them and watching them explore the funny feeling in their mouth. I love bathing them, seeing them kick their little feet in the water and smelling how good they smell after I rub them down with lotion. AAAaaahhhh I really do love it and will miss it so much.

They have started eating solids twice a day now. Davey loves it, Mattea will tolerate it and Frankie really isn't very interested yet. So far they've had rice cereal, bananas, sweet potatoes and avocados. We are trying to make all of our own foods organically so we know what they are getting but we realize it may get to be too much so we'll do what we can and see what happens. So far they seem to like the sweet potatoes the most. We will introduce apples next-woohoo.

David is Mr. Personality. He absolutely loves people. He loves to be talked to, kissed and played with. He does a lot of talking and loves being talked to. He smiles whenever someone walks into the room and is starting to get upset when they leave. He's very sensitive and sometimes when one of his siblings cries he'll stick his bottom lip out and pout or start crying to. He is very big and wearing sizes 12mo-18mo already. I can't keep up with his wardrobe. After a trip to the Pedi. Otolaryngologist we have decided he will have surgery at the end of next month for his tongue tie. We may have let it wait to see how it would affect him but the doc. says it's a pretty serious case and is allowing absolutely no mobility for his tongue. We're very nervous about him having to undergo this procedure because of the fact that he has to be put under general anesthesia. Other than the anesthesia it should no big deal, with a stitch or 2 and a pretty quick recovery.

Mattea has a lot of personality herself. She means business and doesn't like to be ignored. Sometimes when you walk by her without saying anything she'll yell. It's pretty funny that she knows already that she must have a voice for herself with a future of living with 2 loud little boys. She is the most mobile. She rolls over in her crib and scoots all around as of this week. She's never in the same place when we go back in to get her. She loves to sleep with her little bum up in the air and I just love watching her. She has also been laughing out loud. She'll only do it for me and only when I touch her lip with my finger and say "mama, dada" over and over. It melts my heart.

Frankie continues to be Mr. Smiley Guy. As soon as he sees someone when you take him out of bed he smiles the most infectious smile ever. He smiles so hard that he puts his little hands together and his eyes get all squinty and he looks like he's going to crack up. I love it. He's a pretty happy baby. He isn't sleeping as much as he used to these days. He likes to play on his belly and in his jumperoo. He's been talking a lot more too.

One thing they have all been doing a ton of is drooling, EVERYWHERE, day and night. I don't know how long this whole teething thing goes on for but every morning I feel their gums to see if anything has popped up yet. I can't wait to see who will be first. Well, it's time to play with the babies. Enjoy the pictures.

Inrtroducing Solids...

I know it's been months since I've had a chance to update this blog. I guess it's quite busy around here. While I don't have time to post all of the babies stats wanted to share some photos of them starting solids for the first time.

Our prediction was that davey would be pretty ready since he loves to eat, has been putting his hands to mouth all the time and is just a hungry guy in general. He did pretty well. He spit a little out but seemed to retain most of it. Frankie was not too interested and Mattea was just having fun with the spitting it out. It was an exciting milestone for us. I will try to post a more detailed update of life in our house when I have a chance.
